SYNOPSIS
Drawing History is a studio run with first years in their first semester where the history of architectural design is introduced by teaching students the art of technical drawing. Through the understanding of line weights, composition and hand drawing skills, four concepts were explored between two different buildings by two architects from two eras.

Both buildings were compared using series of well-constructed drawings in plan, section, perspective and axonometric/ isometric. The drawings challenged the way students interpret how another architects’ idea is represented.
Students were exposed to resolving design problems encountered through this process and to realise that it was not about replicating drawings found on the internet or within books, but how a drawing may represent an idea.
The following is a collection of work from several students.
