DESCRIPTION
The building proposal references the touchstone story of the "reclamation of the site", the process by which the site was filled and made use of by the growing settlement of Perth. This led to the concept of ‘layers’ and layering which is referenced in the ground floor through the use of mosaic tiling which describes the striation of the original river silt fill of the site. The proposal provides the public with toilets, change facilities and a kiosk on the ground floor with a restaurant, deck and control room on the floors above.
