PROJECT TWO

Inside outside Robert Juniper Gallery ( scale: union)

 

This project hinges on a set of intersections: on lives and works of two great figures - artist Robert Juniper and engineer CY O'Connor, on the junction between town and landscape - where highway meets the settlement, on the vastness of the pump station - the limitless and the contained. 

 

A post mortem was taken on a Juniper painting to uncover the various types of projections at work in the painting - plan, section, elevation, perspective, detail - and to mimic a portion of his work using a variety of mediums.

To contain selected works of Robert Juniper in Merredin’s residual Pump station #4. The design was conceived prior to the site visit, and critiqued and reworked in response.
