SYNOPSIS

 

The dreaming and proposing of a masterplan for Wooleen station; half a million acres, 700km north of Perth.

 

Three days were spent camping at the home shed meeting the owners, walking the land, understanding the history, ascertaining the current situation, formulating a brief and gathering site information. 

 

The foundation of this studio allowed subsequent studios to pick pieces of the proposition to develop, procure and build one-by-one; giving the owners a basis to apply for funding, drum up interest and provoke inquiry. 

ISOLATION CHALET

 

One encounters the chalet as an isolated object in the landscape, weathering gracefully into its surrounding. To unfold the building reflects the ritual of preparing a camp site for habitation. One occupies the building according to what daily activities are required,
